As I am gluing the seams on my second s&g boat and trying to avoid sanding and varnishing the first one. (too much fun paddling it) I begin to wonder what the life span of a modern s&g kayak is?

Has this method in it's current form outlasted any of it's produce? Keeping in mind that the "method" is constantly advancing and changing, but lets define it as the use of modern marine plywood, Epoxy and fiberglass encapsulation. Lets also assume TLC of the boat such as refinishing every two years and storage out of the weather.

How long will my boats last? Will they give out before my liver does for example? (looking for another 50 years on the liver!) ------------------------------------------ Yes, I am killing time while my seams cure.
