I, too, had the same questions but just went ahead and drilled for the deck rigging and end pour. I did put the rudder on my Osprey (double). I am thinking I should probably take the rudder off prior to varnishing. Any advice on this? Would it be a terrible sin to leave the bracket on and varnish around the bracket? I know, take the time and do it right. I will finish this thing before a year is up!
