I can't comment about the differences between the Pygmy and CLC boats, but I did try out both the Coho and Arctic Tern recently at Pygmy's Port Townsend headquarters. I expected to like the Coho better, I liked the lines of it better, but found that for me, the Arctic Tern was a better choice. Having size 11 1/2 feet, the Arctic Tern seemed to have more room for my toes. Also, the Tern had more inital stability (felt less tippy). Both boats tracked straight as an arrow and handled some rough water in Admiralty Inlet well, but the Arctic Tern seemed to maneuver more easily. As far as assembly goes, my boat isn't done yet. My advice is to read the directions carefully, and take your time.
