Most boat supply stores carry 3M self-adhesive strips (sold by the foot) in different widths in white and black - the strip is a "non-skid" strip often applied to exterior stair treads, etc. Not sure if this would work but it might be worth an inexpensive trial. Guess I'm going to have the same problem when I finish a Ch. 17', as I'm not as agile as I once was.
