I do have a bunch of photos, but none are scanned. I was planning on setting up a web page when I'm done -- when I have a bit more free time -- and didn't know until recently that pix could be posted without setting up a page. Soon, soon...

I installed the cockpit lip (cherry plywood) last night. Tonight I made a cut-out of the word "Wakan" in script letters in walnut iron-on veneer and put it front and center on the lip, which I have yet to glass over tonight. "Wakan" is a Souix word which means "spirit." I have some pseudo-Navajo/Hopi designs in the deck, so I have a whole Native American theme going on here. Not that the Souix's, Navajos, Hopis, etc. were really well known for their kayaking...;-)

A tip on iron-on veneer -- the adhesive on the back forms a slight bead around the peripery of the veneer when ironed on. It's small, but I have yet to see how it appears when epoxied over. It's whitish, so it will probably look like the occasional place on the hull where a bit of wood glue got overlooked. I thought a bit of adhesive would be easier to accept than soaking a real piece of plain veneer in the recommended witches brew of chemicals I don't have on hand.
