Good advice. For an even better perspective: pick a nice warm day, dress for a walk on the beach. Put in, paddle out to water five feet deep, do a wet exit. This may not change your mind about safety in Florida or Hawaii, but in Puget Sound it will open your eyes. (And shut down most of your other functions)
