: I am planning on building the CL Millcreek and was thinking I might try to
: use 1/4" marine plywood for the hull. I was wondering if I could get
: by without glassing and therefore would only epoxy and paint the hull. I
: live on a coastal area that is marsh and no rocks (plenty of oysters
: though). I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences that would help me
: determine if this is a good idea.

: Thanks Bailey--

I wouldn't worry much about checking or leaking, as long as you do a good job of sealing the seams. I grew up on the Connecticut coast, and painted plywood boats were common. I had one - it gave good service for years and took a lot of abuse. Of course the down side is the weight and the yearly paint job.
