Fiberglass it- Period. The amount of work that goes into any boat is such that you don't want your first oops! to result in serious damage. Furthermore, if that boat tears open in deep water your life or that of others could be forfeit. I can't stress this strongly enough. It would be preferable to use high end West marine/System 3/ MAS epoxy, but even low-end laminating epoxy would be a big upgrade. Think of it as really cheap insurance.

: I am planning on building the CL Millcreek and was thinking I might try to
: use 1/4" marine plywood for the hull. I was wondering if I could get
: by without glassing and therefore would only epoxy and paint the hull. I
: live on a coastal area that is marsh and no rocks (plenty of oysters
: though). I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences that would help me
: determine if this is a good idea.

: Thanks Bailey--
