Chris Dore is right, its the Mama gators you want to worry about. Its been a warm winter, most of the nesting is finished, but a few may still be on the nest. When in narrow creeks and bayous, stay near the center. Always look way ahead for heaps of debris mixed with dirt, these are the nests. Give these a wide berth. Caution other paddlers in your group to not get too excited, if they see a gator, they're great to watch. Do not try to catch or chase a baby alligator. If everyone is calm and attentive you can avoid capsizes. Sorry this is off subject.
