Most earth friendly way to build a kayak--skin-on-frame. Maybe recycled stringers and ribs with a hemp skin? Original sealskin prolly isn't so earth-friendly!

You also have to consider how much more energy went into the plywood production vs. the processing of S4S lumber.

And to echo what Don Beale said, my green paradigm allows me to be a proud dumpster diver in THIS lifetime!
