I must plead ignorance on that. In fact, I would really like to hear someone's explanation/usage of all the solvents commonly found at neighborhood home center. That's a list I'd squirrel away somewhere.

As far as mineral spirits go, it's generates static for some reason when you're wiping down the boat, so it might not be the best way to rid the surface of dust. Someone recently suggested using water instead. If you can wait for it to dry, you might want to go that route. Good luck.
