Hi Fritz ,

I mounted a Richie Kayaker, $43 on my guillemot in similar fashion to the way CLC describes on there web page. However rather than carve the bottom of the block I chose to take two separate pieces and lay them on the deck to get the right curve, I then planed the joint down the middle and glued it together. Once I had that done I planed the top off flat to mount the compass. It seemed easier than trying to carve the bottom to match the deck
