I live in the lower peninsula of Michigan, and have taken a few trips across the 'Mighty Mac' (Mackinac), a 5-mile-long suspension bridge that connects to the upper peninsula. On the usual breezy summer day, winds can be 45mph or more up on the bridge, and I've had my kayak start twisting even on my Saris rack.
