In Response To: Scarfing the shear clamps (Brian T. Cunningham)

What was it two years ago that all references to url addresses were dropped in that column kinda sort sighted in my mind.

Anyways, back to the scarfs ...

I tried "stacking" two peices together and then cutting which worked great, except that I couldn't get a shallow enough angle due to the clamps, better off with the miter box!

Speaking of which I "layed up" a jig last night with a piece of "angle iron" ( actually wooden trip so I wouldn't ruin the blade when I hit it ) I said "laid up" since I took this as chance to check out that 2ton epoxy you see in home improvement stores. You know the stuff the looks like a double-barrel syringe. They way I can do _really_ small batches. This one was white & black, so it mixed up grey, so I wouldn't coat anything with the stuff. Looks like it will work out for hidden joints, or quick repairs for that matter. It sets up in 5 minutes!
