I made a simple jig for cutting scarfs that fits on my bandsaw. It went together in 15 minutes and works fine.

I cut a piece of hardwood that fits in the miter slot on the table and attached that to a 10" x 14" piece of 1/4" plywood and ran that assembly through the saw to trim the edge of the plywood to be parallel [and "tuned"] to the miter slot. That done, I made a fence from a 1" x 3" x 12" piece of pine which was screwed to the plywood base at the angle I wanted [I like an 8 to 1 scarf]. A quick pass by the blade trimmed the fence to size.

I clamp the wood to the fence with a spring clamp and run it through the saw. The cut pieces fit perfectly.

I ended up adding a weight to the front of the jig so that it would not topple off of the bandsaw table when I moved it forward of the blade while clamping the next piece of wood. Next time I might use a longer piece of plywood and locate the fence with better balance in mind. If you are using a tablesaw or a bandsaw with a decent size table this would not be a problem.
