There are a few others in the Wooden Boat catalog series (thirty, forty and fifty woodenboats). A Joel White design comes to mind, but it is not a high performance shell (too short/too wide). The designs mentioned in the other response here could probably be strip built without too much trouble. In the latest issue of Woodenboat Magazine, there is a piture of a recreational shell that the builder designed and strip built. It is 21' long, no beam mentioned. She was built w/ 3/16" cedar and epoxy......has a hard chine according to the write up. The builder/designer's address is included in the write up. Any of the shell plans that have station molds every foot or so could be adjusted to whatever length you want (within reason), and strip built, for a light and strong shell.........heck you could stretch Nick's Razor Billed Auk......at 20" beam and scarcely any overhang ( the WL length is practically the same as the overall length), she might just make a good shell. Some well placed deck beams and a dacron deck cover (like a baidarka), she'd be a light shell too.

All this is just speculation on my part........I am not a rower. I just learned that we have a rowing association here in our city. There is a small boat house with a short but well protected canal for rowing, very near my home ( if I joined up, I could store a shell there). Our city is is the midst of a downtown renewal that, hopefully, will result in the developement of a series of small lakes along the North Canadian River. These will be narrow and fairly straight with locks for a water taxi service. Fundraising efforts are also underway to build a public boat house along the riverway for community rowing and for staging collegiate level regattas. I am trying to get my oldest daughter intersted in giving rowing a try, since the local club is developing a high school rowing team too. This all sounds too good to be true, but I sure hope it comes to fruition. ........let me know what you find out there in the way of rowing shells.....I'm getting a little old, but I'd like to give that sculling thing a whirl........... good luck, garland
