Although experienced builders can make the Guillemot with the qty of strips Nick's book addresses, my experience with my first boat is that I've ordered 3 (three) 1" x 12" x 9 feet cedar boards, cut them with an 1/8" saw kerf, get almost a hundred strips ('cause they are half the length, right?) and ran out of strips when stripping the deck.

I'd go for the 40% more.
