For 4 mm thick panels it appears that the difference is perhaps ultrasonic testing of the glue lamination in the 1088 in addition to a nicer face panel. same wood, same number of plys and same phenolic glue is used for both. Perhaps the cheaper stuff could be used for the hull panels and the deck be made from 1088. just trying to save a few bucks for my father.
