Last year, I used one of those small soft-sided coolers. I laid it on its side and shoved it forward of the aft hatch so the zipper faced the rest of the compartment. I could then just unzip the top (backside) and pull out whatever cold groceries I desired. We went to an area without a dependable fresh water source, so I took 2 frozen 1-gallon milk jugs full of water. After 30+ hours, the ice had melted only halfway, so I had a gallon of ice cold water, and still had ice should I have been out another day. I also had yogurt for breakfast and a nice sub sandwich for lunches and didn't have to worry about its mayonnaise going bad.
