Hans,

I made one out of a heavy, stiff rubberized canvas, thinking it would hold it's shape better. Unfortunatly, it still sags and gets in the way of your feet at times. if I did another, I would use light fabric and make some sort of frame to support it. You will ned to think about how you will use your footpegs. Since mine are adjustable I made the bag long and feel for them through the sides of the sock. If yours are fixed, you might make the sock just long enough to reach. To secure it to the boat, mine has a drawstring (in a section of thinner fabric) that I knot around the coaming. The spray skirt fits over it.

Anyway, the sock is worth having. The boat used to sink in the surf but now takes on less water than a boat with bulkheads. tha skirt has never given me any trouble when bailing out, either.

Good luck!
