Hi Hank, I think I already told you my feelings on staples. I'm going back to staples on the next boat. You could do like I am and split the difference. Staple the hull and go no staple on the deck. I started No Staple and found it was just to much trouble bow and stern as well as along the shear on the hull. I have one spot top center of the deck that popped up after I quit work for the night that I now a a little hump to plane out I HOPE! I ended up putting a staple fore and aft the cockpit just to keep everything in place. OK I cheated but I bet nobody will ever know once its done. I also have split up use of cove and bead and rolling bevel on this boat due to the deck design. They both seem to work about as well, although I'm not sure about strength.
