imagining boat landing on beach, wave landing on boat and you. crunch goes boat, the largest unsupported area of the deck is right in front of the coaming, the cockpit takes the wave onto your legs, the back deck has the bulkhead but not your mass centered in it as does the cockpit. Back to the wave on deck, force transmitted around and down, crunch, somewhere by the screw hole for the footbraces and aft goes the force, and stops. anyway at some point imagining all the possible places a boat can get crunched will lead to some entertaining over building, how about a lattice work of unidirectional kevlar inside deck and hull concentrating at midsection, glass outside under hull for abrasion/compression, and for strippers strategically placed woodstrips for strength,s-glass,etc..at some point for multiples of the cost of 6oz e glass one could get some impressive gains,,,,,untill a four foot wave hits it just right,,,crunch.
