evening shawn, might be a good idea to consider where that 4oz,6oz,or whatever material needs to be other than outside/inside. Also whether you are protecting from a total fracture or multiple fractures. A few cracked sea kayaks and one carbon/kevlar surf kayak that i have seen were damaged on the side of the hull,below the seam between hips and feet. If you are damaging a boat with a conventional layup then you must be having too much fun,wear a helmet.
