I just sent a message to Mac McCarthy of Wee Lassie fame asking him the same question. I figured paddling through the Florida swamps he was passing cypress trees and would have a good feel for it. I'll let you know what he says.

I know it is marginally heavier than cedar but that's the only negative I have found. It sure is easy to find in South Carolina. Where are you located?
