I would either mark points around the full sized template 1/2" away from the original lines and then use a smooth curve to connect these points or find a printer than can copy blueprint sized sheets and enlarge the image slightly.

you can calculate the amonut of enlargement if you know the original length of your cockpit.

ie. if its 32" long and 20" wide and you want it to be about 1" bigger all around, thus 33" and 21", then you need to scale it by about 4% bigger. This gives slightly different than exactly 1" difference but pretty close.

Hope this helps. the number 1 choice above will give you the exactly 1" bigger ijn each dimension though and shouldnt be too much work.
