Hi Kent, Even in warmer temperatures, Titebond II has a chalky white appearance, especially on smears on the surface of the wood where I've wiped off "squeezeout" glue. It's only amber/yellowish if it's allowed to dry in globs.

I had a couple of spots that didn't hold so well on the stems, due to the cold. (and due to the fact I didn't use cheater strips) I dripped in some epoxy and clamped it down tight. It took 1.5 weeks to get hard, but it is holding now!

When I mismixed some epoxy when I was making "feather" paddle blades as described in Nick's book, the joints kept letting loose. I threw 25 hours of work into my burn pile. (Lesson: never trust the pumps, always pump into a measuring vessel)

I feel your pain, man!
