Mike - I use two Freud Diablo carbide tipped 7-1/2" thin kerf (1/16") in a gang cutting setup on the table saw. These blades are available at Home Depot for about $10. Put the first blade on the arbor, then a spacer, then the second blade, and the washer and nut. You will have to fool around a bit with the spacer. I used a thin circle of ash, less than 1/4" thick, and added spacers from my Freud dado set until I got the correct strip thickness. Then adjust the rip fence to the outside blade to give the same thickness. Run some scrap to check everything. Once set up, I get 2 strips per pass, both the same thickness, reasonably smooth, and only half the sawdust than from a 1/8" kerf blade for two strips. I have cut all the 1/4" cedar for a 16' Adirondack guide boat, and all the 3/16" mahogany strips for my Wee Lassie II canoe. The blades are still sharp.
