Pete,

Pete:

Hi Pete, I'm also curious. I have been a woodworker also, here in Fresno California, off and on for about 25 years. I have never heard the term Long Leaf Pine. Could you clue me in?? Out here, we get Sugar Pine and Ponderosa Pine. Of the two, Sugar is the best, in regards to knots and pitch packets. In the past few years though, the Sugar Pine has become difficult to get and costs an arm and a leg. The Ponderosa is a bit too knotty, and would take too much selection to get anything worth using for long strips. Just Curious.
