I have the same seat in a Cape Charles. I didnt install the rope, to adjust the seat I just unstick it and put it where I want, the back rests against the coaming. I liked it fine until I tried the seats I made for the Tred Avon, but its not uncomfortable enough to re-do. If I recall, the rope went from a padeye under the deck, thru the loops and behind the rest, to a jam cleat under the other side of the deck.
