For a seat I would recomend making a mold of your posterior and using fibreglass over it. what I did is:

sat in a box/tray full of sand and wiggled around. this made the seat extra large for padding or extra clothing. then I layed plastic over the sand mold. Then I covered the whole thing in 3 layers of 10 oz. fibreglass. It was my left over tape from building the boat. (I know some people will say that his is wrong and that it will not work or will be too heavie or somthing. but it is more comfertable than any other seat I've ever used so back off :o) after doing the layers of glass I took it off the mold and covered it with 1/8 inch minicell foam. I then made pillars (if you will) out of mini cell to hold the seat in the right position. I glued the pillars to the seat then to the bottom of the boat. I've used it quite a few times and it works great. it only cost me about $20 and about 2 hours work. if you have any questions feel free to email me. I gave in and baught a rapid pulse back band for $45. I glued webbing loops to the underside of the deck in front of the seat to attach the front straps to and put a webbing loop behind the cockpit for the chords on the back. it works well enough but could be refined a bit. my boat is about 9 inches deep at the most and only 5 or 6 where my feet are (a chesapeake yare with lowered deck.) I am 6 foot 165 pounds I havn't decided on putting in foot pegs yet. and if I do they will be glued in. so I can't help you there. ope this helps at leats a little bit. Dave P.S. if you are looking for neoprene fabric you should try local outdoors shops or scuba shops. I've seen it sold as padding.
