Remember that changing your position in the boat will affect its handling. Check the Appendix 4 of Nick's book, p.186, on finding your center of mass, then match this up with the boat's center of bouyancy. Position your seat accordingly (er, your boat's seat.) If there isn't much room left, fill the area between your back and your [as-yet-to-be-installed] aft bulkhead with minicell foam contoured to fit your back. If you have more room, you could install a backband.
