Get hold of "Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America" By Adney. Library is good but it is a must purchase if you like canoes and/or kayaks. The section on kayaks has some made with tenoned frames as per umiak style. Plans for same boats available from Smithsonian as is the book. BOB
