I just finished building a skin kayak that can by built as a 16 footer by adjusting the spacing of the forms. It has a hard chine and requires no bending of ribs. Check out George Putz's book "Wood and Canvas Kayak Building" I'll give more reports after I paddle it some more. I've only had it out once. Look at previous posts on "Putz Walrus in the water".
