thanks for the link. These look the nicest so far. And with your technique of putting them below the glass, makes them way stronger. Otherwise the dowel end gluing is prob a little weak. Prob rip off in a rescue.

I agree about the cheesy plastic padeye - I think it would be most aesthetic and strong if a U of say brass was used instead of the plastic. Prob stronger. Of if worst case use black plastic so they would not be so noticeable.
