You might be surprised that costs for shipping is not that bad.

The cost of the plywood may be unacceptable, but costs for shipping will not - if you can find the wood you really want and are willing to use the time involved for your project.

I find shipping (by air) cost for kits from Pygmy and CLC in the US to be quite acceptable if I am to buy them from the US. And: The ply they use are made, I believe in Europe, probably in Dutchland or England, but I am not sure about this.
