I think it should be very possible. I built my stripper in my driveway. My garage isn't big enough for my wood working machinery and the boat. After milling the strips and setting the forms I had every tool I used for the rest of the construction in a tool belt. I haven't had to use any machinery at all. I say cut out the forms, mill the strips, and move your couch out of the way!
