Resorcinol has superior strength and water resistance, but I have always heard it required tight fitting joints and moderate clamping pressure due to it's poor gap filling properties. In any event, since it requires mixing (like epoxy) and has a long cure time (like epoxy), it might be more convenient to just use epoxy to join the strips.
