I'm assuming two ways to use this stuff. The first is that this would be used as a tool to help in lining up the deck and hull, and then glassed over. The second is that this is used as tool to line up the deck and hull, but it is removed after the first layer of glass and resin sets up.

In the first situation it would look a bit strange, and might not give a very good joint.

In the second situation the `H' channel would be chopped into 2 foot lengths ( or maybe a bit shorter or longer) and used to align things. Between the lengths of `H` channel you could tack things together with glass cloth and resin. Removing the channel after the resin sets up would be a pain, but I suppose you could sand off the entire exposed exterior piece, ( that would be one of the uprights of the `H` shape) and the interior piece ( the other upright of the `h`) could then be pried out, bringing with it the crosspiece of the `h'. The gap between the deck and hull would be slight, and could be easily filled with thickend resin before covering the area, inside and out, with glass cloth and resin, or glass tape and resin.
