Well, all those rolls are in a whitewater kayak--they're a heckuva lot easier to learn rolls in. I can do the screw roll and Pawlata on both sides...I have yet to pull myself all the way around in a hand roll in my sea kayak, but someday, oh yes, I will. (I hope!)

It's all in the hip snap. I could maybe almost do one in a WW boat. Once you have a good solid hip snap, all the different rolls are merely ways of getting your body in a good position to do an effective hip snap.

Rather than thinking about doing the hip snap and snapping your body up out of the water, think of snapping the boat under your body...the roll will follow.
