Thanks for the tips Kevin. I should have mentioned the type of epoxy, it is MAS Cool Cure resin. The type that CLC sends out with their kits. I've not worked with epoxy before but based on what I read and working with the stuff it seems to be of a low viscosity.

Funny thing is it's not the vertical surfaces that aren't filling in, it's the bottom panels of the boat, which are nearly horizontal. Not what I'd expect. Is that a clue in and of itself?

Based on your post and some of the other, older ones I've read, it sounds as if I need to determine whether the weave is indeed not filled in, or whether the epoxy surface has just "telegraphed" the weave through. If it's the latter then I can sand away and get a smooth surface without sanding into the cloth.
