I use a Ritchie,but I attached it to a separate cedar strip section I laid up on the deck where I wanted the compass to be,using a sheet of saran wrap to keep it from sticking to the deck. The curve fits perfectly.I glassed it,glued some minicel foam to the bottom to keep it steady and prevent scratches,and attach it to the deck with bungee cords.The lubber line is close enuf to navigate,and the compass can be removed to be used on my other kayaks,and prevent theft.
