On my first stripper, the deck broke loose from the forms while scraping and sanding. So I had a choice right there. From experience I know the deck, because of its flatness, never closes up where people have fitting problems. But, yes, I agree, doing the outside first is usually the way to go.

If you think about it, the deck is now loose from the forms, and you lay it on the forms, glass the outside, then what? Strap it to the forms? You want to glass the hull and you need that clear. So in many ways doing the underside of the deck is not that far out-of-line. For me it not that often that the deck stays attached to the forms after sanding.
