Except for S&G I have never glassed the inside of the hull first, mainly because I can't imagine a good reason to do so. If I had a good reason I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

I always glass the inside of the deck first, as, for me, there are multiple good reasons to do so. When glassing inside the deck I don't bother with multiple female cradles. I just make two cradles and place them at the thirds. The deck holds its shope just fine, especially if it upside down.

Having said that, I cut the cockpit opening after all glassing is done, so the sides at the cockpit are not that narrow yet.

The deck will tend to contract very slightly as the epoxy hardens, but it will be quite flexible still with only one side glassed, so fitting to the hull is no problem. This is one of the advantages.

You can see the process on my website if you have the inclination.
