Strip: strip built tractor seat

I am going to try and build a tractor style seat out of strips.

My idea is to buy two identical tractor seats and use them as a mold to form the wood strips. I am going to soak or build a steam box to bend the strips. Then use the bottom of one seat and the top of the other and clamp them together untill the wood has dried. After dried, I will glue and clamp again.

Anyone have any input or a better way to build a seat like this.
