Searched out this thread again and wanted to see if Charles or anyone had an update?

I just attended the Quiet Water Symposium in Michigan and we drove though all the snow and mess to get there. My regularly washed Suburban looks like it an escapee from a rock quarry! We had anticipated this and used plastic stretch wrap to cover the boats and it was good thing! Even so we still had to clean each boat. While stretch wrap works, it is a real pain to wrap the boats. Especially after a show when you're tired and have to break down and load up, so we are looking at covers again.

Nick, I am assuming your knit covers, as much as I like them, would do very little at keeping all the road grime off the boats? If I understand the material you're using it wouldn't really keep the boats clean? That is my goal, to be able to travel and show up with clean boats.

I assuming I need something like Sunbrella fabric. Don't want anything that flaps wildly going down the road but i don't want to form fit a cover for each boat either. I want something universal. I was toying with the idea of adding nylon straps every couple of feet with the quick release buckles maybe?

An enclosed trailer obviously would be really nice but that is way expensive and heavy for kayaks. But I have seriously played around with the idea of a SOF covered kayak trailer! Still haven't figured that one out but it is fun to dream.
