I agree that a 15' boat with a 13.5' to 14' waterline is a sweet spot for minimal wetted surface drag and decent residual drag at recreational paddling speeds but for overnight trips the storage capacity is pretty limited. Of course if you are a tooth brush handle cutting minimalist it would have plenty of room.

If you are coming to kayak camping from backpacking, you'll love the luxury of taking 'lotsa stuff'.
Most 15-16' boats have about the storage capacity of a couple of backpacks, if you use small dry bags.
If you (or your companions) are used to car camping, you may need to change some habits. ;-)
