Thank you. I like the suggestions of using a square and making a wooden model.

Man it is a even more difficult to cut a hole in the hull that it was to make that cut in the deck for a hatch.

I am thinking of positioning the skeg box so that I can reach the axle from the outside using the hatch.
I noticed I do not have a lot of depth in the rear deck so it may be almost as far back as I can go anyway.

I gather there are no rules for the location of the skeg on the long axis of the boat.
Since this is a fairly small blade, I have given up the off-set position so I get more skeg lower in the water and because I was concerned about getting it truly vertical. The square idea should take care of that one.

And I know quite a bit about the correcting capacity of thickened epoxy by now. I am hoping the corrections pass the 5 foot test. I guess if they don't there is always paint.

Am I missing any really basic points??
