S&G: How do I lay out the shape of the skeg box on hull

I will be putting the skeg box slightly off center of the keel--on the left side so I can run the cable to the left side of the cockpit. Seems like a solid idea to avoid picking up real estate from launching and landings.

Since the hull is a V is there a trick for getting the skeg box vertical and NOT cutting the opening over/under sized?

Also there seems to be a huge gap between the blade and the inside of the box. I just measured it--about 1/8 ". It looks larger because the blade has an air foil shape (teardrop?)

It looks like I could take out the axle and possibly center the blade a bit better than it is right now. Then again might lead to another screw up (no pun intended).

I guess if I cut the hole under size and just keep fitting and sanding I should be able to get a good fit. There seems to be enough of a flat area on the bottom edge of the box (15/16") to trim it along the slope of the hull after installation.

I will check with my supplier to see if she remembers who made this and see if there are some installing suggestions from the maker.
Guess I could get brave and try to post a picture too.
