Well, there are at least four good reasons that I took the boat to the pool last night before taking it on a ocean paddle:

1) I forgot to put sealant around the skeg control box, so it was leaking a bit . A dab of Marine Goop will fix that quickly!!

2) For some reason I was getting binding in the skeg - but only when in the water. When I got home and checked, it was fine. Gotta look into this one further.

3) I forgot to seal around the skeg cable housing where it runs through the bulkhead behind the seat!! Marine Goop again!!

4) The flat black looks even better in the water!! So that affirms my belief that I will stay with this painting scheme!!

Looking forward to to taking the Pearl to the our kayaking Retreat this weekend. And what's even better is the weather is supposed to be nice AND there are a load of icebergs in the area!! Should prove fun!!
