I didn't get a kick when I wanted to paint over Minwax polyurethane and they handed me a gallon of exterior Acrylic.

When it beaded up and wouldn't stick, they had to discuss if they would take it back. Finally did.

Next time I read the label for myself - actually my mistake, but they did strongly mislead me.

BTW, oil base works fine over polyurethane.
